Bought a e8400 and Arctic Alpine 11 Pro Rev.2 cooler but its overheating cos it doesn't make good contact if any with cooler as idle was going up to 75 grr. I remounted but still no good, when I unmounted it no thermal paste was on CPU except tiny bit on side edge. I'm 99% sure its mounted with push pins in correctly but I give up. So I want a cooler with push pins like Intel stock cooler, cheap but keeps it from going too hot at load and easy to install and defo will make contact. I was think Intel stock cooler cos I'm not going to oc it. But will it be OK? I was looking at akasa x4 cooler looks like no backplate needed and might install easy and defo make contact with CPU but its expensive at £20. There are some cheap low profile ones under £10 at ocuk but dunno if any are any good.
Really don't wana spend much but do want somit that defo will mount OK, and dead easy to install I.e push pins but not them ones where u put things in holes them put this long bit in to secure it like from cooler I bought that doesn't mount well.
Mb is p5kc in case u need idea if it will fit etc.
The bad cooler I got was pushing against nb heatsink. Don't think that was good really.
