Cheap dual core setup

A friend of mine wants a machine building that will solely be used for web browsing and office work so a motherboard with onboard graphics will be fine.
I was thinking of this motherboard -

Asrock Conroe945G-DVI (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-004-AK)

I know this board will work with the conroe cpu's but will it work with the p4 dual cores aswell?

Also would it be worth paying the extra for a conroe cpu because the pc will rarely be pushed to it limits and it won't be overclocked.

Yes it will work with the ordinary Intel Dual Cores e.g. the 805, 820s etc, if you aren't likely to be overclocking and the PC isn't going to be tested much then I'd probably not bother with Conroe.
