Cheap eyefinity setup

And connect 2 of them usinging DVI cables, and one using the displayport using a funky adaptor?

Looking around the net you can pick up a:

"24 cm Display adapter - single link 20 pin DisplayPort - male - 24 pin digital DVI - female - PC" for about £8

or do you need a powered one like: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-223-SP which costs about 11x as much?

You can do that sort or setup although how good those monitors are is a relative unknown.

You can use a Displayport to VGA adaptor for this sort of setup. I have done a lot of research on this and it does appear to be better than the Active displayport to DVI adaptor in terms of the dreaded blinking issue (where the monitor connected via the adaptor will just blink off for no reason).

You can pick these up for £25ish.

the extra RAM should be better in the long run IMO

should be better yeah, but I don't think that actually makes much difference in games, also then you have to buy more display port cables.
For a cheap setup a standard 5870 would be more suitable

I think the card comes with a multitude of adapters.

Just wondered what the difference between the powered and unpwered adaptors is?
