Hey guys, pretty much as the title says! Can anyone recommend a cheap(ish) gaming laptop that would be able to play Guild Wars 2? It doesn't have to play it at max settings, I think medium settings would be nice enough. I'm happy to spend anywhere from £400-800 - but ideally I'd like to spend £500-600.. It is for my missus and she'll be using it for the usual crap - browsing the internet, emails, Facebook and then some gaming like GW2 and The Sims 3..

I was going to build her a new rig or give her my old one and build myself a new Ivy and Z77 based rig - but she wouldn't really use a desktop.. She prefers chilling on the laptop in bed or in the living room.. She's quite happy with laptops once it has a mouse plugged in to it.. :)

Any recommendations or suggestions would be great!

EDIT - Found a few refurbished laptops, anyone think any of these sound good? I'm leaning towards the £499 one.. Anyone reckon the AMD 6940M could play GW2 at medium settings? If not then the M14x looks pretty sound.

£312 - HP Pavilion G6-1220SA - AMD A8-3500M - 6GB RAM - 1TB HD - AMD 6620G
£499 - HP Pavilion DV6-6156EA - Intel i5-2410M - 6GB RAM - 750GB HD - AMD 6490M
£640 - Alienware M14x - Intel i5-2430M - 6GB RAM - 750GB HD - NVIDIA GT 555M

May be worth checking out the Dell outlet.

I got my xps 17", Intel I7, 6gb RAM, Nvidia 555m in November for £580 (that is inclusive of VAT/delivery etc).

Ardmanz - Yeah that is were I found the Alienware. Didn't really click and look at the XPS series laptops though! Found some good deals.

B-Cool - Good spot! Looks really good for the price. Shame it isn't in stock though!

Definitely keep an eye out on the Dell outlet, some great deals to be had there.
I've been looking at the AMD based Pavillion for a while now, just not sure if the CPU clock speed is a bit too low. Rest of spec seems alright for £315!

The According to Notebookcheck.com it can clock itself up to 2.4 GHz, but there doesn't seem to be much more info about it. Its a shame that the better AMD GPUs seem to only get paired up with AMD CPUs, as most notebooks at the low end seem to favour low-end Sandy Bridge. On the bright side it seems AMD's Trinity should be out soon.

HP Pavilion G6-1220SA imo

I am about to buy this, I hear you can Overclock the CPU for lots more proformance

Though Ill tell you to look at Dell Outlet, they have some sweet deals sometimes, £500 for a 550M + i5
