Hi I am looking for a good spec for a gaming rig (preferably less that £750). I am not looking to play Crysis with max settings just a good rig with good playability - I mostly play CS, DOD, TF2, COD4 and CoH etc

A good monitor recommendation (outside the £750.00) would be appreciated for the rig.

Do you need an OS?

Without and OS you could look at something like

750.jpg

Reading around gaming wise fast dual cores are quicker than quads and then you could look at this monitor:

Thank you for your prompt replies!

I have OS (Win 7 RC).

Would all of those have reasonable oc potential? (it seems yes from reading further).

Thanks for all your replies. It is much appreciated.

What about this (including monitor) for £750!

ANTEC 900
Seasonic Silverpower 500W
Gigabyte GA-M720-US3
AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720
Kingston HyperX 4GB
Samsung SH-S223B
XFX ATI HD4890 1Gb DDR5
Western Digital CaviarBlack
Asus VH222H True HD

And then a Titan Fenir for £34

What's its advantage over the GA-MA790XT-UD4P specc'd above (8 quid more here or there) - and will the DDR3 make much difference (seeing as it is over double the price of the M720)

The extra cost in mobo price is not due to DDR3 support. The one I listed has 790GX chip set, which is really good when it comes to stability and overclocking potential, it is just that it is also AM3 socket, so that it supports DDR3 ram.

ANTEC 900
Seasonic Silverpower 500W
GA-MA790XT-UD4P
AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720
OCZ 4GB Platinum DDR3
Samsung SH-S223B
XFX ATI HD4890 1Gb DDR5
Western Digital CaviarBlack
Asus VH222H True HD

Pushing my budget but... looking good!
Titan Fenir

Get a coolermaster scout case, looks awesome for the price and I've heard plenty of stories saying the antec 900 is like a dust magnet (hence why they released 902).
