I know the GFX will be a bottleneck but that will be replaced with a 2900xt or 8800GTS later.

Would like your thoughts on this please.

Seems reasonable to me. You may want to consider trying to fit in 2Gb RAM - it really is worth having nowadays. :)

What case/PSU will you be using?

I'm not sure what the deal with B-Grade is. You may want to be prepared for receiving that mobo without an IO shield or some cables.

looks good, just for reference the p5n-e seems to have probs with 4gigs of ram if u intend to upgrade later. I would really suggest 2gigs of ram, and at around 46 quid for that model I would get it.

I was thinking of getting anther set of the Team Xtreem at a later date.As for the case i am undecided.Would a 480w PSU handle the current spec?

I can fabricate a IO plate from carbon fibre at work.

480w should be plenty for the current system, provided it is a quality PSU. Other than that it looks good, particularly for the price. :)

I was thinking of along the lines of a FSP Sparkle Blue Storm 2 400W ATX2.0 PSU or using a Akasa 480w [i think thats what it is] thats in my spares box.

Either would do fine although I think the Akasa would be a 460w if anything as if memory serves they were made in 400w, 460w, 500w and up. :)

I think you are right.Im not 100% sure that its ATX2 compliant either whereas the FSP is.

Damn that's cheap! I'm tempted to do a similar upgrade as I'm on socket A right now....

I'd get 2gb tho, it would be around £200 total then, which is still damn good!

Budget is not really a issue but i just wanted to see how good a PC could be built these days for what in effect is the cost of a Mid to High end GFX Card!

Only really play BF2 and thats at 1024x768 on VGA or 1600 x 900 [i think] using HDMI.

What section is that motherboard in? I can only find the AM2version that cheaply. :(

It's in B-grade & clearance section, there is only 1 P5N-E left at that price!

B-grade P5B is also available at the same price which is an absolute bargain!!
