my gfs dads buying the parts from my pc, mobo/cpu/ram .. his son plays a lot of football manager 2011, would a 7900gto 512mb be alright to run this?.. i need a dedi card as the motherboard doesnt support onboard gfx.

The game, as far as i'm aware, is very CPU orientated (cruching stats) and if the pc components in question are the ones in your sig then the 7900 GTO running in combo should be fine running FM 2011. The recommended spec only asks for FX 5900 or later.

yeah but its not for me, its too be used as mainly a workstation type pc. with some light gaming i.e football manager, so as im buying things for it out of my pocket to help them put it together (they know nothing about pcs they spend £1000's on crap laptops) maybe along the lines they might want an upgrade on the graphics but they dont need anything too flashy. Yesterday her dad didnt even know what a dual core cpu was.. never mind a quad core, lol

I know you have to draw a line somewhere with components but that's quite an old card. Is it new? Can't imagine there's many of those around. The only card I've ever known to die was a 7900gs purely because it had been used for gaming for a few years and then in a lower spec PC for the internet and the odd game. It was just worn out.
