Cheap GPU replacement

I have a GeForce gt 8500 and its knackered, it does what I need it to do graphics/video wise, so will any of the current available ATI cards be better than it?

I know this isnt as popular a subject as 'Which is the best GPU I can get for a grand' but Id appreciate some feedback

I was looking at spending as little as possible, I just assumed that anything around today will be better than a 4 yr old low range card

Nice one. The GT 8500 does what I need, so if a cards better than the gt 8500 it will be fine
