cheap graphics card

Hi guys,
i have been given an old gaming pc with an asus p5q motherboard. There is no graphics card with the pc and there appears to be no onboard graphics.
Not sure what the processor is as I havent had chance to pull up the fan yet

Im looking for a cheap graphics card that I might be able to play some older games on - possibly minecraft... at a push just cause 2.

Any recommendations? Im trying to keep the budget under 50 quid.

You could try either of these.

but for £50 you're really not getting much for your money. they could both most likely run minecraft, however.

Keep your eyes open for an old GTX 285, they can push some pixels and be had on auction sites for around 60 quid if you are lucky.

My GTX 285 was one of the best cards I ever had, it ran everything up to Dishonored (albeit in DX9) maxed out. That was until after four years of heavy use it started getting too hot all the time and I had to have the fan on 80% permanently lol.

I think second hand is a good idea. maybe save your pennies until you get nearer £100. you'll get a lot more value for money the nearer the £150 mark you are.

Should be able to pick up a used 7750 for that if you keep your eyes open.

I will probably go for secondhand and there was a 7750 on ebay yesterday for £58.
its gone today but will keep my eyes out.
Any other suggestions?
