Cheap holiday destinations (2-5night stay?)/ good ways to save money?

Looking to go on holiday with gf and do random touristy things (I'm also going to french alps 2 weeks kayaking so preferably no super adventure holiday :p)... I saw on last minute its around £200 for flights+ hotel to barcelona!?!?

Looking for anytime between may-september (not sure when places are super warm?/ sunny?) Im guessing school holidays is more expensive..

So spec me holiday finding tips please, thank you good people of OCUK

As a guiedeline price say 200-300 max inc hotels/flights.....? (not much I know :p)
 
Barcelona is awsome, great food and wine sone great sights and the Nou Camp.

Other Recomendations from persoanl experience of breaks with the girlfriend, Amsterdam great food great sights, Madrid Amazing food and wine not so good on the sights, Prague Not so good on the food but really good sights and beer (avoid the stag do hang outs). Not done Paris yet but it's worth a shout and Eurostar works out pretty cheap if you book well in advance.

I'd skip the UK unless your mad keen as a half decent British hotel seems to cost as much as flying to a decent european destination and staying in a good Hotel/
 
I've seen prague and comes up pretty cheap :p, yeah I'd like to avoid UK places if possible. Isn't paris expensive? (would also prefer to avoid train travel as Im driving to the alps... ). Isn't amsterdam full of stag do's/people wanting to go to cafes?

Had a look at a prague thread on here and seems pretty good, I'll give madrid a look too.

Think I've decided to go to prague in september (~210-240pp for 4 nights), hit me up with things to do/places to see :).
 
Paris and cheap are very rarely used in the same sentence!

I'm going for the weekend and it's costing me around £400 for just eurostar (£70 each way) and a cheapish hotel...
 
I'm going to Portugal with my lass on 26th for 5 nights. Cost us 477 for both of us with flights transfer and 4 star hotel which looks ok for price. That's albufuera. I'll tell ya how it goes lol
