what would be the cheapest host that I could get.

I need FTP access, there will only be about 20 pages max, not much traffic.

I have checked ISOhost and dreamhost, both seem good and I am veering towards Dreamhost, would it be detrimental to have an US based host though as I may look at SEO in the future?

Have you thought about hosting it yourself? Leave a PC on 24/7. Run IIS or Apache.

I run my own website on my Linksys NSLU2. It uses minimal power, runs a cut down version of Debian and you can do to it what you will.

Having done some SEO work myself recently, it would appear it would only be detrimental if you had local UK content you wanted included being hosted in America.

Suppose it depends what you define as cheap. You want a host which is affordable but not too cheap or you'll end up with poor quality service and support.

My suggestion would be Eos Hosting. Their cheapest package is £4 a month.
