Currently have a rog swift 27” 165hz monitor from a few years back but I sense it’s close to death and need to get a new one.

Not looking to get a monitor which is as good due to finances but need it to be 27”, 1440p, 144hz + and have Gsync.

Cheaper the better. Any suggestions welcome.

Unless you have ancient graphics card, FreeSync monitor will work fine.

What kind budget you were thinking?
And do you use more normal room illumination, or do you prefer dim room?

Cheap and G-Sync aren't normally two words I hear in the same sentence.

Having used both G-Sync and Freesync, and given you are price concious, then really I would go for Freesync. G-Sync is just something you get if the monitor doesn't come in any other flavour. It's only up for debate if you don't care about the cost.

thanks for the replies.

does anyone see any downsides to this monitor ? seems too good to be true (27" 1440p monitor with HDR and Gsync compatibility) ?

ASUS TUF Gaming VG27BQ HDR Gaming Monitor - 27 Inch WQHD (2560 x 1440), 0.4ms, 155Hz, ELMB Sync, G-SYNC Compatible, Adaptive-sync, HDR10, Black

£240ish seems very cheap. I thought HDR monitors were pricey ?

It does not actually support hdr, it's a marketing thing and nothing more.
Sure you can enable it, but it will look awfull, becouse the ips panels can't do proper contrast. Most "newer" ips/va monitors do this.
