Cheap ISP Recommendation

My friend is looking for a cheap ISP, max of £15 a month. This is in Aberdeen, so no cable, no asdl2 and their exchange does have LLU services but only talktalk and sky broadband.
I've heard talktalk aren't that good and they don't want sky, so can anyone recommend any decent cheap ISP's?
Oh they don't download all that much so limited download limits aren't a problem.

I know they don't want sky, but for that budget, it's a good deal. Why don't they want it?

I'll let someone else advise other alternatives, i'm not quite sure. But i can say for the money sky is fine, decent speeds and stuff.

I'm not too sure why they don't want sky really but I would have recommended them as well, it's what I'm currently using :D

Do you know how much they intent to use it each month in terms of how much data they would require, most of the Enta resellers do a very good package for £20 a month with 30Gb peak and 300Gb off peak downloads. Slightly over their budget but they are a very good ISP and like most things, you get what you pay for.

On the subject of a cheap ISP , does anyone know of an ips that gives you a free modem or router?

Be give you a free router with their connection, their cheapest one is now £14 a month for an 8Mbit service, or you can get their 24mbit service for £18.

Sky also give you a free router I think.

Sky do, but the problem is they lock it with there firmware, and it isn't the best.

But you just can't complain with the service, some people may get poor speeds and so fourth, but the majority i know of have been getting a decent service.

The firmware is so easy to crack

I'm trying to pursuade my parents to go to O2 Broadband.

Having an O2 contract means half price..

Unlimited 8meg for £7.50/month or £10 for 16meg.

Also comes with 3x mcaffee security keys and a wireless router.

And a 100day money back guarantee.

It's so much better than our current Tesco unlimited 1meg for £17/mo it's unreal

Thanks for the advice people. Yeah i think I'm going to have to crack my firmware on the sky router as i have to reset the thing ever two days or so. It's not as if there is massive amounts of downloads happening, just streaming video's from my wireless desktop upstairs to my xbox downstairs. Had a look at the o2 deals pretty good, but sadly can't get it in Aberdeen just yet.
