Cheap laptop/netbook

Hi,

A friend of mine is after a cheap laptop/netbook for using skype and surfing the internet whilst traveling.

I was thinking about one of the samsung n series (like n150).

All i have been is that it is cheap and good enough for skype and surfing.

Any suggestions?

I wouldn't spend more than £200 on a netbook. Otherwise, I'd go straight for a CULV laptop (SU2300, like the UL30A, Acer 3810, Acer 8371), or a Fusion (E-350) machine, like the new HP dm1, or the Lenovo x120e (not out yet, but soon).

I'd say the Toshiba here on OcUK, but Samsungs are good too. Upgrade to 2GB is you can. I'd also prefer win 7 than XP they sometimes come bundled with.

UL30A is a great laptop, My daughter inherited mine when I got a new Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820T yesterday.

Prices for them are a wee bit on the side. Think i'll suggest they look at the tosh and the samsung n series.
