Cheap laptop recommendation..

Been asked by a friend of mine for recommendations for a laptop for their 13 year old daughter to do homework on etc. She said it must be windows...

They pointed me to some eeebook with 2 GB ram from main high street shop for 229. Ive asked for budget and 300 is the max.

Any ideas?
