Cheap Laptop - which CPU

Looking for a cheap laptop £3-400, not a Chromebook, he has one already and doesn't like it. Any thoughts on the Ryzen 5. 7520U Vs the i5 1235U?

General office work, browsing etc

I recall the i5 is 20-30% faster on paper and a fair bit better in real world depending on the actual laptop spec.

That i5 when paired with 8gb memory was more than adequate for daily productivity tasks. I've had it in Dell and Microsoft devices albeit at much higher budgets.

Think there are a couple of HPs, Asus and Lenovos with this CPU in your budget that would do the job.

I have the i7 1255u in my work laptop which is pretty much the same as the 1235u and i find it very snappy in day to day usage.
More than fast enough for your average office work.

Thanks, got the 1235U in the end, seems plenty good enough for his uses.
