Hi there I happened to be looking on the net for memory ,and came across this :
***** 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 667MHz PC2-5400 240pin Extra Value Ram ,i,ve kept the company where you can buy it blank for good reasons ,anyway here is a review from a customer:
Cheap - Excellent Memory which works on following motherboards, Asus, MSI, Asrock & Gigabyte. Im currently using a 2gb kit on my Asrock Conroe 945G-DVI w/ Conroe E6600.

There is no lag, nor have I had any blue screens or freezing do not let the price fool you thinking its rubbish memory. This has been the cheapest 2GB DDR2 667 PC5400 memory I have seen anywhere on the net, and by the way they are Elexir Memory.

I would only go for value ram if you were very very tight on cash. Your best off spending the extra on a nice 2GB set of corsair or other branded memory which have a life time warrenty. I think corsair have the best RMA service although i havent had to use it and hope i never will, my corsair set is rock solid worth the £170 i payed for it :).

thanks for that reply ,and yes i tend to agree with you ,what about Corsair Value would they be good ? being that there a better name or company ?

Elixir is branded RAM, it's the brand name of Nanya Technologies in the same way that Crucial is the brand name of Micron Technologies.

In the same way that 1337z0r wouldn't buy OEM RAM, I wouldn't pay a fortune for a fancy coloured heat spreader. I've got some Corsair 667MHz Value RAM here and it doesn't say Corsair on the chips, it says Elpida. I've also got some Mushkin 'performance' RAM and that says Nanya/Infineon on the chips.

I would always buy at least PC6400 RAM now, in the same way that I would always buy PC3200 DDR RAM even if I only needed PC2100 or PC2700 at the time.

If you want to buy some REALLY good RAM then the Crucial 10th Anniversary stuff is what you want.

thxs a lot

Yes. That board has asychronous RAM timings so you just set the RAM at 1600-5-5-5-12-1T (for the OcUK Value RAM) or 1600-4-4-4-12-1T for the GeIL Value RAM or 1600-4-3-3-8-1T/1800-5-5-5-12-1T for the Crucial Anniversary and adjust away on the CPU FSB.
