Anyone know of anywhere that does cheap multi-monitor (vesa standard) arms?

I know Ergotron and a few others do various stuff but the prices are ridiculous for something that is not really much more than cast aluminium and and few bolts etc.

Can the mounting plates be bought individually anywhere? Anyone seen/know of any homemade stuff?

Comrac do multi-monitor mounts that are slightly cheaper than Ergotron's, I think. I'm also looking for a cheap multi-monitor mount at the moment without much success. The only cheap way I've found is to buy a number of cheap, single-monitor mounts. There's a Kensington mount available for about £35 if you search around, and a couple of those would be much cheaper than the ~£200 for an Ergotron/Comrac multi-monitor mount. It won't have the same invisible look though :(

please be careful guys about competitor talk. Discussing Ergotron is fine, but no mentions of places which sell them which would be classed a competitor please.

thanks

The ergotron and comrac arms are ridiculously expensive in the UK. I've been trying to source a Neo-Flex for a few weeks now from the US but the shipping costs are prohibitive ($50 to $60).

As someone mentioned earlier the Kensington Acco Flat Panel Arm is a good bet and it's a shame OCUK dont stock it because it's reasonably cheap for an articulating arm.

If you're looking for alternatives than have a look at some of the following manufacturers:

Compucessory
Gembird
Humanscale

You can also pick up a variety of other more generic arms from a certain unmentionable site that millions of people frequent daily (and no its not OCUK i'm afraid)

I have got a Kensington and am quite happy with it especially as it cost at least 1/3 of any other I found. I'll be buying a second when I get my next monitor

Cheers, yep, I've seen those and they are good for the money - hence my original query - in other words, the likes produced by others are basically a rip-off.

A rip off maybe a little strong :) It depends on how much cash you have to wave around and what you are after.
This Kensington is a very basic arm, a lot of the more expensive ones have gas assist struts to make the movement easier etc.
I had to really tighten the up/down joint right behind the mon as the arm is for 15-17" screens my 19" is a little heavy for it (ok now though).
