My mum’s internet connection is behaving very flaky all of a sudden, with constant connection drops every 5 mins or so. ADSL light goes out, then the slow wait for it to reconnect.
She’s with COOP broadband and a word with them just covers the usual suspects such as checking leads, adsl filter etc. They did say that there seems ‘high line resistance’ but couldn’t offer much more than that.
I’m down to two options now. It’s either the line or the router. Given that there seems zero chance of getting an engineer this side of Xmas, I’m minded to get a ‘cheap’ router to see if that’s the culprit.
Can anyone recommend a decent (£50ish) new router? I don’t keep up with the current tech but I’m sure that’s pretty barebones price wise, but hopefully it should get something at least comparable to the current router/modem, a Asus DSL-N55U.
Any advice much appreciated!
