Cheap oil and filter renewal

Don't forget they don't include Fords which require 5w30 oil in the promotion.

So that'll be virtually every one built in the last 10 years, then.

Cheap oil, cheap quality paper filter, lots of paper bits in the engine, fantastic

is Duckhams oil cheap? I thought it was reasonable.

A little bit off topic, but I just read something on that site:

A Change for the Better
Recent environmental legislation dictates that only a carrier registered with the environment agency can conduct the disposal of waste oil - effectively putting a stop to DIY oil changes.

I didn't know that, and I've just changed the oil in the Volvo which I need to dispose of.....

So does that mean I can't dispose of my oil?

You should be able to take the oil down to your local council tip.

My oil changes cost about £13 @ trade price, that's for a Blueprint filter and Carlube oil, and I do the work myself every 3k miles.

I use GTX Magnatec so imho compaired to what i would put in then yes it is cheap oil, its not the oil really its the filter that would be my main concern.

You can take it down to the local tip who have an oil bin you tip your used oil into.

I wouldnt use them these quick fit type places are dogy as hell, my mate has his oil done in a similar place and they didnt put the filter on properly and it sprayed his oil out everywhere as he drove off and he needed a new engine and it was hell trying to get them to pay for it but eventually he got his new 1.8 vtech

National have been good when Ive used them, I expect that can vary on a local basis but generally I think their good.

You know they would get sued so quick if their oil or filter were particularly poor quality, obviously that could have a knock on effect. If theres any trick it will be the basic one of getting business in, we did your oil for cheap and then noticed your brake pad, caliper and tyres need replacing, that'll be 300 quid please thankyou sir :D - me -

Err take it to your local waste diposal site where you take the rest of your household waste that goes in the bin. They do not charge for this.

I got my oil changed there a couple of months ago it cost £15, much easier than doing it myself and was only 10 minutes doing it.
