Am just looking at the budget you can get things at now, was wondering how much a cheap (but overclockable) C2D system would cost me.

I don't need an OS, but I do need a 19" monitor.

I also don't really need 2GB ram, so 1GB would suffice (6400 please).

Graphics are not of utmost importance currently, I managed on my laptops intergrated Radeon 9000 for ages before it died, so would be looking for a step up from that of course (any card around now!), but nothing too major. Best games I will be playing is probably Rise Of Legends, which ran about fairly decently on my old laptop, so yanno.

Cheers guys.

Budget??

*EDIT* Just realised you are asking for the price, then yeah around £800 maybe a bit less if you don't need a good graphic.

This is a really good system with lots of overclocking potential. Could throw in 2gb of ram for extra £70 but up to you. Would be worth it.

hmm. I'm rather liking the last system indeed. I'll deffo knock down the graphics, seriously, I only need about a 7300GT!

£700 is a nice figure actully. I think I may try and stick to that :)

Will be buying sometime after christmas, just gotta save up the money for it.

I've managed my rig for £420

Yaaay

But I'm only paying for CPU, Mobo, GFX Card, Floppy Drive and RAM, which is all coming from someone in the trade. The rest is Xmas presents or taken from my old computer.

But if I tally it all up at retail prices...
CPU £115
Mobo £90
Monitor £140
Keyboard £10
Mouse £10
CPU Cooler £25
RAM £100
GFX £170
HDD £30
DVD Drive £20
Floppy Drive £5
Case £20
Fans £15

So that's about £750. But only 1GB RAM. Worthy sacrifice for an X1950XT, though. Can always grab more RAM later on ;)

I think you're looking at £800 for a decent system inc monitor etc.
