Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade in the summer to a quad-core gaming PC when hopefully some of the prices will be a little cheaper. However, i am new to computer building/overlocking, so was looking to build a cheap, intel based PC in a few weeks to practice building, and have a go at oveclocking without (really) risking anything!

I was thinking of something along the lines of:
-ASUS P5N-E SLI 650 motherboard
-Intel Core 2 Duo E2200 Conroe 2.20GHz (i have heard this is better for overclocking since it has a higher multiplier??)
-2 x 1gb OCZ Platinum rev 2 800 MHz DDR2 RAM
-160 gb Hitachi Deskstar HDD
-Samsung 20x DVD RW
-Arctic Freezer Cooler 7 Pro
-OCZ StealthXStream PSU
-Either a Lian Li PC7 II Plus or Coolermaster CM690 Dominator Case

I already have 2 x Geforce 7600 from my current PC to include in the build. With some variety of windows (probs vista basic 32-bit), i think this should come to around £300-£350. Whilst im sure there are cheaper bits of kit, i am really looking for something that will provide a good overclocking experience.

However, since i am new to building, if anyone could give their opinions/suggestions/changes/advice, it would be most appreciated!

For what you want it all looks fine, I doubt you'd see much difference in overclocking potential between the E2200 and E2180 but for the sake of £5 you might as well start from the faster clockspeed.
