Don't bother with 123-reg when it comes to eu domains. I've been a customer of theirs for years without any problems until it came to this!
For one thing, the checker for eu domains on their website doesn't actually work, its just a gimmick. i attempted to pre-register a few domains and it turns out they were actually already taken in the sunrise period. Had this checker thing told me i wouldn't have attempted it.
