Guys,

Got a rift S and for some bizare reason got the 3 dots of doom and have looked around on net and people are saying its windows / oculus software or usb drivers. you name it its getting blamed :(

So anyone know of a cheap powered usb card to let me run the rift s. I have confirmed its not the headset as i have plugged it into someone elses pc who already has a rift and it works as soon as its plugged in (although they are having to remove and re-insert the usb after the pc comes on, but it works)

So anyone got any ideas or if they have had this issue how it was resolved.

I have tried the uninstall - reinstall of oculus and also joined the beta , updated video and usb drivers

Dont really want to do a windows re-install unless 100% we know it would fix it but have seen ppl that have tried and still failed.

So please help..................

Motherboard is asus rampage extreme IV, MSI GTX 6GB 1060

The Inateck KTU3FR-4P is the card you are looking for.

If you buy it, don't install the manufacturers drivers, let windows install the driver.

EDIT: I just noticed you have an Asus motherboard. Try going into the Bios and disabling XMP, then inputting your memory timings manually. For some Asus motherboards there is some kind of conflict with XMP and USB that makes the Rift S not work properly.
