Death Star or Mount Doom, it depends on the day.
Hi all, as the title says iam after a cheap but reliable PSU for my Aunts computer as iam giving her one of my old GPU's, ' an x1900. As I know they are amp hungry and require something daft like 25/30 amps, Iam limited to a cheapish market. Her current set up is q6600, with 2gb of ddr2 ram 6400 i think and some rubbish intergrated GPU.

I was looking at that one but dont know how to work out the amps.

Any help would be grateful, thanks.

Thanks. Yeah she is, she likes playing FPS. E.G HL2, Doom 3, and iam going to recomend Oblivion to her when she is done. Was the OCZ one no good? The only reason iam saying as its a bit cheaper

The Corsair was what I was going to recommend as well, as I'm pretty sure that card doesn't need two 6-pin connectors right? Well OCZ would be fine but I think Corsair is worth it for the extra reliability and regard it's held in.

The X19XX only needs one 6pin, the CX400 would appear to be the best bet or an Antec Earthwatts 380W.

The wattage is fine on the basic - it's the fan that's loud
Was the amp's that make me think of the corsair - 12v rail is 30a

the Ocz has two 12v rails that add up to 30a but with a hungry card I'd stick with a strong single rail. (could be completely wrong)
