Cheap Rack Server ?

Hi guys

Can anyone please help me out to find the cheapest place possible that sells a 1U Rack Server straight outright so that i can get it delivered and configure it myself then send it off to a colocation destination ?

Dell/HP? Im sure you can get one even cheaper, but to be honest if your to the expense of colo'ing the box then dont skimp. Both you and your provider will get royally peed off if it keeps going down or needs restarting all the time. Not worth the hassle.

Ebay would be absolute cheapest, but you have to consider that when you co-locate something, you assume all responsibility for your hardware and any failures.

If a hardware part fails, it will be you driving to the datacentre to replace it ... rather than if you rent a dedicated server, the company would have spares on site and you'll not have to lift a finger to get your server fixed...

Cloud 9 wouldn't be the name of the data centre by any slim chance would it?
