Hey,

I've chosen the following components for my Dad:

Intel Core i3-2120 3.30GHz - £99.95

Sapphire HD 6570 Ultimate Edition 1024MB - £53.99

Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB - £49.99

Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 - £45.95

XFX Pro 450W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply - £39.95

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 4GB - £35.99

Xigmatek Asgard Pro Gaming Case - £32.99

Total: £358.80

Can anyone make any improvements to that? Could stretch to £400 if it's good bang for buck. I've stayed away from APUs as might improve graphics card as some later point. By the way is it still common for them to ship some thermal paste with a CPU?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Well I'd really like to keep the option open for making it a nice gaming rig in the future as my little bro will be using it. Just trying to keep the initial cost down.

It will be a gaming rig as the AMD APU is a great little chip for the price. You can hybrid-crossfire the APU & 7750 on a budget.

It may be worth seeing what you can get from the MM as a 560/660 may go cheap and yield better results than the 6570.
