Does anyone know of any cheap travel agents or online agents that have cheap ski holidays, a bunch of us are looking to go to France around Jan 2007, and are looking for somewere to offer a full package as it were with lift passes and ski/boot hire included in the price.
Ive been on like thomsons and a few others but they seem to be EXTREMELY expensive as i remember looking a few months back and found a couple of good deals for like £450 with everythin included. But i cant for the life of me find it on google or remember its name.

So does anyone know of any good places onlinoe to book a ski holiday?

Thanks.

yeh burned alive thats the sort of price we're looking at, i'll have a butchers now.

Ski world are very good. Their last minute deals are exceptional. I'm going skiing with them in a group of 8 of us to Meribel. We took advantage of a 2 for 1 deal and came out with a bargain £360 each for the week, which was much better than anything else that came up. The last minute deals are cheaper, but there's always the chance you won't get what you want. The alternative is to go somewhere cheaper like Andorra or Bulgaria or Romania.

well im game for anywere to be honest just as long as there are PLENTY of runs of varying difficulties, and the snow is good, i've been skiing in Italy twice before and had a blast both times. I'll suggest some of those places to my friends, the only niggle they mite have is that there may not be much to do off piste. I'm ideally looking for a site that will do a full deal and supply boots, ski's and lift passes.

Just specced up a week in France, Sherre Chevale (sp?) for £438 thats including everything.

That's where I went at the beginning of this year. Got back to skiing after a twenty year break :). It cost £350 for flight and hotel (£0 to me, 'cos it was a birthday pressie :D ) and £170ish for skis, pass and lessons for a week. We stayed in the Lodge Cimotel.

Next year I'm going to Avoriaz in January and then Whistler in March.

I dunno, last minute deals are now starting to become a better bet. With the lack of snow in recent years I think its actually better to book a week or 2 in advance. Have a look see where there is some good snow and get a holiday there. Even if its not the place you wanted to go earlier in the year it still means you will get the best conditions.

That all depends i suppose if you actually go out to ski or just cruise the bars. :p

Bear in mind that I have very little (nothing really) to compare it too. Before SC I last went ski-ing 20 years ago with my schoool to Andalo, Italy.

At SC I had a week of group lessons booked in the morning. We spent most of the time based around the Aravet bubble lift, skiing down blues and eventually progressing to reds and blacks. During instruction I didn't really get a chance to appreciate the piste we were on as we were stopping constantly as he reviewed our performance on the exercises we were practising. In the afternoon, I either assisted my sister with her exercises, as she wasn't as advanced as me, or practised down the same runs that the instructor took me down. As a result I think I only did about 3 or 4 of the runs in the whole resort.

Apres-ski, I restricted myself to window shopping - not much really and restaurants - I didn't find one bad one out of the 4 I tried. I didn't go out in the evenings as I was too knackered ("I'm too old for this ****" ;) ). The local bar at the bottom of the Aravet lift is run by a ex-pat brit and his two alsatian dogs - very good for lunches as were the restaurants opposite next to the ski schools.
