Can any one recommend me a small case only needs to fit a matx board in and 1 2.5" and 4 3.5" hard drives in it to use as a file server I just want something thats silent and descrete that I can hide under a desk

There are loads of generic ATX cases that take a 120mm front and back. Most even come with PSUs. Try searching on EZCool.

not quite sff but the lian li v600, a05 and g50 should cover your needs, although you will need some adapters etc.

I currently use the g50 and I've worked out that it could hold 8x3.5" hard drives (5 in a caddy), 2x2.5" and an optical drive if you're prepared to do a bit of modding of simple modding (extension to hd cage to hold the 2x2.5" drives). The silverstone nt06 passive cooler also fits/works fine with a 120mm psu fan.

Aplus Case CS-Blockbuster-BAW. small, cheap, ( should be around £40 ) nice looking case, 120mm fan in the back, which most people turn round, so it blows air into the case which the psu fan then extracts. for the price you pretty much can't go wrong tbh.

inside a zen if it helps:

it's take 6 Hdd's if you havnt got too bigger gfx card, the one pictured is an 8800gtx so dont think the case is that small.
