Hey guys, I had a Xonar DGX for a while before it broke and started causing my PC to blue-screen. I'd like to replace it with another DGX but was wondering if there is a better alternative out these days?

I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770s, I use them for gaming and listening to music mostly.

I'd prefer to spend as little as possible as I have just moved house and need to buy a car in October so money is a bit tight.

DGX is the only 'cheap' internal card that has a headphone amp, that I'm aware of. There's an external Creative E1, which is about £7 more, if you want a device that you can use as an amp with other sources; mobile phone or tablet, for example, as well as with PC as a DAC/amp.

If it's just for PC, then another DGX is probably the ideal choice. After the DGX, the next internal card with an amp is the Creative SB Z, which is £52 for the OEM version.
