Right, £500 to spend for full system. It's not for me and i know the budget is tight but here's what i'm thinking:

Antec NSK4400 Mini Tower Case - 380W SmartPower PSU £35.99 (£42.29)

Samsung SpinPoint P SP2504C 250GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM £42.99(£50.51)

BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7300 LE Turbo Cache 256MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £28.99 (£34.06)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ 2.00GHz (Socket AM2) - OEM £54.99(£64.61)

MSI K9N Neo-F nForce 550 (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £44.99 (£52.86)

GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX21GB6400UDC) £59.99 (£70.49)

Pioneer DVR-111BK 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter - (Black) OEM £18.99
(£22.31)

Logitech Cordless Desktop EX-110 - Retail £17.99 (£21.14)

Belinea 1925S1W 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver £107.99(£126.89)

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2) £13.99
(£16.44)

Sub Total : £426.90
Shipping : £12.95
Vat : £76.97
Total : £516.82

It's ever so slightly over budget but i'm under strict instructions to keep it as cheap as possible!

It will be used mainly for Photoshop, Internet and Music. No gaming whatsoever. I've tried and tried to make it C2D but i'm finding it impossible especially as i need a monitor also.

Is everything compatible? Will everything work ok together? Have i forgotten anything? Any other comments appreciated.

Ta :)

As Melbourne says, for the budget its a decent rig. There's quite a lot of threads that have the £500-600 spec me budget and its fine if its just core components like CPU, Mobo, RAM, GPU etc but when its almost a full system its very hard!

No problem. Worth a mention, there is some GeIL Value 2GB RAM on special for £111 I think this week. I know its £35 more but you would be getting an extra GB there, would give you that extra loading time and speed.

Worth doing - games like BF2 are hampered by 1GB of RAM.
