Looking at the bench marks i dont think even the 2GB 7750 would be worth the saving.

Take it your not going to consider the AMD option, even though I explained how it is cheaper and possibly a better option.
In that case, like you said, the 7750 wouldn't be worth the saving imo.

It would be cheaper but certainly not better and when an upgrade is required for better graphics your really looking at replacing half the stuff.

You gotta think what games he will want to play as well though. Those are just current ones and they arent old.

They're not exactly the most demanding. It also depends on if his son will care about graphical quality that much, whilst keeping the budget in mind.
