My sister found this awesome company at a fair.
It's very good prices and they do a load of good stuff. One of the ones I like is coconut milk powder.
So rather than buying a tin and wasting half of it. You can just make up what ever qua tity you need.

Unfortunately they still live in the dark ages and it's mail order, you need to phone for a catalogue to be sent out.
But improvement is on the way

Big tubs of powdered spices? Won't they just lose their potency, over time?
They start losing potency from the moment they are ground.

Exposure to sunlight, moisture and air all accelerate the process. Big tubs are something of a false economy unless you really rattle through them at a rate of knots.

I always buy the smallest possible quantity, which I think is about 100g, for the reason of freshness. Big tubs would probably be only viable to catering.

I buy 250g-1kg bags of spices and dried herbs from a little asian deli by mine.
They cost much less than those silly pots in supermarkets and are much stronger flavoured by a long way. Schwartz are such a huge rip off, how they ever get away with £2 for a tiny box of peppercorns when I can buy a huge bag of them (enough to fill the box 20-30 times) for £1 I'll never know, I suppose supermarkets have led to consumers who don't care about shopping round for the best the "**** it that'll do" crowd constantly wondering why their food isn't as good as a restaurant.

Also got a fresh herb garden, which is likely to be dead when I get back to Plymouth guttingly enough.

i am lucky i live in Luton, there are about 100 asian grocery shops with a 5 mile radius, and i get my spices from them.
i have to agree with pitchfork, Schwartz are such a rip off, its unbelievable lol

for some, who dont have these shops near them, i would recommend the OP's shop, even for mail order, it has to be cheaper then those silly glass jars

I generally only buy spices if they're on offer, the last few times i've been to Tesco Schwartz spices have been on 2 for 1 lately so i've stocked up. I'm reliant on bus travel so Supermarket's are pretty much the only place in range, and Schwartz spices are usually very good quality in my experience.
