Hi Guys

I'm looking for a brand new car for around £150 - £160 a month either PCP or Lease depending on the initial rental / deposit which I would like to keep low under £500

I'm likely to do around 8 - 10k a year mainly commuting a few miles to work and then the odd trip up north a couple of times a year.

So far the only car that seems to fit my requirements is the new Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSI colour edition - I want a bit of tech like DAB radio and Smart link for my phone etc, also It needs to be capable of 0 - 60 around 9 - 11 seconds so not dead slow and have a fairly decent MPG

I know I should probably consider the fiesta but it looks to me a bit dated inside? is there any other cars worth considering?

I would rather have something new and under warranty that isn't going to throw up a large unexpected bill as I have just got a mortgage etc. on a first house.

i had the fabia 1.2tsi 110ps yesterday for the day when my VRS went in for servicing.

i was impressed with the car, surprisingly torquey from 1.2 and i get overall mpg over 49mpg when i only get 33mpg on my VRS on the same route.

the only thing let the car down is the seat.......i dont find the standard seat comfortable at all. so a good test drive is a must

Thanks Wesley that's good to know, will make sure I get a long drive in one if I go that route.

i sat on sport seat in fabia monte carlo in the showroom. the sport seat is FAR better than standard seat.

i believe they cost £175 extra on SE/SEL so i would add the sport seat

We haev a 1.2 TSI SE L Fabia (15plate). Seats are lovely and comfy for me personally, and the Mrs hasn't complained either.

Lovely little car and it's averaging around the 43mpg mark, that's not a lot of miles though as my commute is 2 miles and hers is 10 odd miles. Easily get over 50 on a run though.

i have been in a VERY similar situation the last couple of weeks and managed to find a lease deal of 3+24 for 155/month on a fiesta red edition the 140PS. very cool car. they had 2 still available when i was there 2 days ago...

the facelift is due next year, at some point. which is why i took 2 years, i want the facelift st when it is released!

The interior is pretty good for poverty spec. the infotainment has had a little update. seats are comfy and feel of good quality, not as good as the Recaros in the ST tho. cool little thing, managed 44 MPG Portsmouth to Hull cruising at "motorway speed". pulls quite well when you get on boost. does not feel like a 1 litre engine.

cheap to insure. cheap on petrol. like a step between a normal car and an ST.

The 2016 Fabia is probably a step up from my 15 plate, but so far it's been great. I've got the estate model with the 1.2TSI 110PS and it's definitely not sluggish.

For me, the seats are perfect, but it does come down to personal preference and comfort.

We've had a couple of Fabias, and they've been very reliable. We've currently got a late 2014 (last of the model 2s) with the 1.2 TSI 100hp engine, and it's a lot of fun to drive, has more room than the VW polo on the inside. I'd not go for less than the 100 hp version, as otherwise it's a bit gutless. I can get 55-60 mpg on the motorway with the aircon on, but round town it's not great because you rarely get the benefits of the turbo engine in traffic.

The TSI engine is the thing that makes the car shine. Lots of torque, nice power through the rev range, good fun on a small supermini hatch.

The ride is comfortable, so its not a killer to sit in, but I find it a little bouncy with an empty tank (as most dealers seem to send it out). With weight in the back, it seems to have a tauter ride.

We had a Fiesta for a couple of weeks, and we found the inside quite plasticy, but then I find Fords always are.

1.0 ecoboost fiesta in that nice blue colour with the lovely st body kit looks the business and drives brilliantly. I had one for six months and honestly loved it.

I don't think the Fiesta ST is getting an update until the mk8 is released. It is already a facelifted Fiesta.
