Cheap Umbrella Company to use for First Contract

Hi Guys

I have started another post regarding self set-up as a Limited Company for becoming a contractor. However, I'm not sure whether I will make the grade yet to secure a contract role, so don't know whether I want to create a Limited Company until I know I can get work.

So, what are the alternatives? I can't really go to interviews for my First Contract and say I'm yet to set-up my company can I?? I've heard of using an Umbrella company, so is this something I could use just for the first contract? Could I just say "Oh, I will use an Umbrella company for my first contract"??

If an Umbrella Company is a valid option, can anyone recommend a good one, preferably as cheap as possible.

You can use an umbrella to start with, but they can be set up in days, via phone and a few emails to supply them with details so you don't need to set up until you've secured a contract.
