As you can see from my build in my signature I desperately need to increase my cpu. Allthough I would like to get a duel processor my funds do not take me there.

Could I get a cheap upgrade from my current build? Would I see much improvement if I went to 3700+ processor?

Thanks for any advice

A socket 754 3700 seems to be going for upwards of £50 at auction so that is a lot of money for not a lot of performance increase. You might even be better looking at changing your motherboard to see how far you can overclock your current CPU.

What budget do you have to work with?

Hello Mate,

One Option would be to go S939 which would allow you to keep your current Ram.

I think the main question is whats the pc used for and where do you want the speed gain?

P.S I Tried emailing you when you had a thread in MM and your email address bounces back

This is a bit over budget but it allows you to keep the same Ram and graphics card plus it should overclock a bit. You might be able to use an E2140 instead but I don't know if it will offer enough of an upgrade to be worthwhile. :)
