To say the least it's been a while since I've looked at my PC with a view to upgrade some parts.

My current spec:
Intel C2D E6300
Gigabyte DS4
2GB DDR2
Radeon 5770 1GB

I was thinking along the lines of upgrading just the CPU and RAM. Would this allow for a decent performance boost? What would be my options?

I will be honest i have no idea about ATI cards so just chose one i have seen recommended before but i know ATI are better for lower end £/horsepower cards

But how cheap do you wanna go ? thats a bloody good setup but nearly £500 notes

if you want to go cheaper like £150-200 cheaper AMD is your route Sir and again i dont know much about AMD
