Totally not me lol, the person in question has said they want to record someone doing something outside their home, the tricky part this person is totally anti technology, the person doesn't even own a mobile phone, but said about getting one just to record.

I did try to persuade the person to get some kind of cheap security camera at the begging of the year, but no luck. I thought about something cheap like a go pro.

The person in question hasn't said or want to tell me what this person is doing wrong.

Oh come on you can’t do this to us! We must know what it is!
I tried to get it out of the person, I said for me to understand more and help you, but it's a no go, wouldn't even tell me what distance it is from the person's house.

A trail cam might work. Usually used in forests, no need for wifi, just detects motion and records to SD card I believe
That sounds like a good option, I will recommend something like that, the person doesn't have a computer I belive the person frequently uses public computers. So this would be a good option instead of buying a phone.

Going purely off of the information in this post alone I’m going to confidently say that this person is a walloper and your life will almost certainly be improved by distancing yourself from them.

Yeah, just did a super quick 30 second search and it seems you can get 4k ones for as little as £30, seems very good value to me. Although might be worth doing some comparisons
