Hi guys,

Moved my drum kit into the shed recently to give my self more room and I'm just wondering what would be the chepeast way to dampen the sound a bit?

I think the neighbours are already getting a bit ******!

Not really sure if it was possible, let me know if you've done anything similar.

Cheers,

Tom

Egg cartons and you can use the spare eggs to egg your neighbours house whenever they complain about the noise.

Or go to Wickes and buy yourself some rolls of rockwool. Works fantastically well for soundproofing.

There are no 'cheap' ways to soundproof a room. You either do it properly, Or you don't do it at all. As has been said, You need to build a room inside a room, Ideally with foam in the middle.

Also, Not sure whether egg cartons was a serious suggestions or not, But they don't help at all with soundproofing. They're a decent way to stop the echos/reverberations though.

This is all coming from experience as a drummer.

Get a few cans of that expanding foam, wham it in a -80 freezer for a few days. Cut away the metal, chuck em in the shed and leg it for a day or so. Bring a beaver when you come back so you can hollow out an enclosure.

May or may not work. I'm not responsible if you lose your hands cutting open a can of expanding foam.
