cheap wireless 5.1 - possible?

ok, so the headphones on the Vive are annoying. I would prefer a 5.1 (or 4 speaker) setup if poss.


4 speakers in the corners of the room would be good as I already have 2 active JBLs in there and I could just buy another two - but cheapest is the best route, if there is a cheap <£100 wireless (bluetooth?) 5.1 system I would just buy that


is that possible? What is the wireless audio receiver tech like currently? i've never even looked at this kind of tech before

Cheap wireless 5.1 speakers don't exist because it's not cost effective, and you'd still need mains power for the speakers, so you can't actually get rid of the wires.

ah ok, thanks. i thought my limited googling was not coming up trumps.

I have plugs in every corner of the room so mains is not a problem
