Cheap X-99 CPU

Guys / Gals please help.. My son has been give by one of his friend an Asus Rampage V Extreme. Now he has managed on his own to sauce all the rest to build a PC apart from a CPU and he has asked me for help in finding one. He is looking for 1 that is a cheap as possible, please can you point me in the right direction as to what he could use.. Overclocking is not an issue as he wont be doing that.

Thanks for the quick responses. 1 more question. What is the difference between an i7 and Xeon? As he’s found a Xeon for £110 would one of these be any good?

Which one has he found?

The one that he has found is a E5-1620 V3

What's his main usage on the PC?

I'm sorry i cant answer that. As i don't live in the same part of the country as him.. I was asked to help him. Though i would expect that he might want to do some gaming. Though im not 100% sure.
