Cheapest build for games

I have been out of the game for a few years, my once good build is still hanging in there as I dont play games as much anymore.

So looking at core components what do you guys think is the cheapest you can build a pc for which can play games. My son is heavily into War Thunder, but dont have the budget this year. (Waiting to get back into MM to look around as have been inactive)

Do you have any spare RAM?

If you do, not that much for 1080p or entry 1440p (somewhere between £600-£1000, depends on the type of games and the resolution).

If you don't, oh dear, unless you can find a good used/bundle deal.
