Cheapest cable management case?

I suppose this is where peoples ideas of good cable management varies. :p

That's not a bad build by any means, but this is an enthusiasts forum, and what I see there is far too many visible cables.

Realise I'm posting this way too often now, but one more! This is mine, and it's still not as neat as I would like. My 24pin and 4 pin extenders aren't in, and I want to hide the front fan cables too.

Since that pic however, I have got a new motherboard so it looks a right mess. Given up on it now though, it just works, so I'm happy with it. :P

Forgive me if I am being thicker than Baldrick in a "I have a cunning idea" moment but have you not just hid all your cables in the grey box and sheaved the rest with black so they do not stick out as much?

Correct, but does it or does it not look neater? :P

The bit above the PSU boxes yes 100%, I must admit that it looks great where any cable coming off of the MB header just disappears seemingly behind the MB tray and then without trying to sound nasty it seems your OCD tablets just seem to run out :D. I do get what you mean as to the difference of cable tidying/management and then "cable management". But there is also a difference from a project to building a mate a PC for X £'s.

Haha, the way I see it it's something I enjoy(ed), it cost me nothing apart from the braided extenders, and I needed extenders anyway.

However, it looks rubbish now compared to that. It's neat, but you can still see coloured cables. :p

To be honest I don't care now. I have that pic so I'm happy!

It does look really good mate :) , what cooler have you got?

Good temperatures on your 965? I'm thinking of getting an Antec 300 + a 955 and the same motherboard you got :D

Yeh very good temps. I have removed the stock case fans, and I have 2 120mm fans in the front and a 140mm in the roof, and the CPU cooler is a Titan Fenrir.

I don't have it overclocked now though, I see it as a bit pointless. I had to up the vcore from 1.425v to 1.525v to go from 3.4ghz to 3.8ghz, which is a 12% increase in speed, but I was running 3.8ghz which it seems is the wall for this chip. Even upping to 1.6v (briefly) couldn't get 3.9ghz stable.

Damn you C2 stepping, damn you.

I wouldn't recommend the 955 if you're going to overclock to be honest, the 955 and 965 C3 stepping chips will reach 4ghz, but the 1055T is not much dearer and they'll do 3.8ghz in most cases, and often will reach 4.0ghz.

I've also changed the otherboard since that pic was taken. I now have a Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H, only £20 more than the M4A79XTD-EVO, but I can't recommend spending that extra £20 more. You get SATA3 and USB3 for a start, it overclocks better, supports the 6 core chips natively and has loads more features that are really useful.

Cool, thanks man. I was wondering between the Asus and Gigabyte MB, now i know which one to go for.

I don't know about the 955 vs the 6 core one thou cuz all I really do is game so I don't think I'll need a lot of processor power and I'll be skint :D

Check out the, Casecom 6788

+1 i'm using one of these, paid 25 quid for it and quite impressed. it has cable management, tool-less drive bays, fully black painted chassis and holes cut for watercooling. it's got room for a xiggy s1284 and a 5870 'just'.;)
