I'm just wondering what the cheapest card is that will allow me to play UT2004 at 1920x1080 on all the highest settings.

I'm using onboard HD 4250 at the moment and although it runs fine, I fancy a step up so it runs smoother.

I'm not a big PC gamer so don't need anything that's overkill. Football Manager 2011 the only other game I play on PC.

Cheers.

Preferably a card that doesn't need added power.

sypher, wouldn't even the 5830 be overkill? I was thinking of spending around £50 ish.

MooMoo444, yes UT2004 is an undemanding game. As I said, it plays OK with onboard 4250 but just need the next step up so it plays flawlessly.

OC your onboard GPU, you can squeeze 800-900 or so core from them no fuss (good jump up from the stock 500).

I did that when I was between GPU's and wanted to play some Guild Wars. Ran a treat at 900MHz with a small quiet fan blowing over it.

You'll be able to run ut2004 maxed out with pretty much anything these days. I managed to max it out with an x1650 pro back in the day. A second hand 8800gt would cost £30 and will still run most games very well.

Yup, I used to max it out completely with an x1950pro, so I doubt there's much that can't handle it tbh.

I'd take a look a cheapo cards on the members market, as buying low-end always costs a fortune when considering performance/price ratio.
