thanks guys, i think this was a 'noob'question unfortunately and down to my ignorance so thanks for taking the time to answer a banal question.

cheers

I have one of the Sapphire X1950Pro's and I'm getting 80fps with BF2 every gfx option max'ed @ 1680x1050, a fantastic budget card.

x1650xt I guess, bit pointless though. Anything below x1950 pros would be a waste.

what he said x1650xt crossfire is laughable with another card adding about 5 fps

would these be more powerful than a single card of around £264?

The X1650's are about £120 inc VAT, and the X1950's are around £160inc VAT

To be honest for the little amount of difference I would go for a single X1950 and see how you go , I have a X1900 XT (admittedly 512MB version) being used on a 1920*1200 res screen and it handles most things brilliantly

Using a single card you will have less heat and noise issues as well as having a decent upgrade path in the future if you need it - rahter than the hassles of dual cards and having to throw them both out if they arent good enough for what you need.

Just My opinion mind
