cheapest decent modular psu

500W will do almost everyone. If you've got crossfire/sli 600W will keep you in "piece of mind" territory. 700W+ is for if you've got a hugely overclocked i7, crossfire/sli and a stack of drives, fans, ssds and expansion cards.

The OCZ are excellent. Very easy to use modular design and very quiet, they run cool too. I've got a 500W and a mate got the 600W on TWO for the same price, both are superb.

That ocz psu will only power one highend graphics card with those limited pci connectors,

Antec new truepower 650 is £74 and has 2x8pin and 2x6pin pci connectors.

well im building a i5 gaming rig, with a single 5850, however i will go for 2 later on down the line..

At the moment i keep thinking about going for the i7 just to be a bit more future proof.
