Hi there

I need a PC for skype, internet and general home usage nothing too demanding.

What is the cheapest I can get a

CPU, GPU, MB, RAM, PSU and 22" or 24" monitor?

I have a hard drive and sound card already.

Thanks

Michael

Thanks for the suggestions.

I already have a WD Velociraptor 150GB, ATI 4850, Case and DVD player so can save some money there.

Would the AMD APU build option be faster than using my old ATI 4850?

I forgot to mention I would like a IPS 22" or 24" monitor.

Thanks

Michael

P.S. how do you link the pictures into a thread like you guys have done?

That mobo has VGA and DVI. Monitor has VGA and HDMI. So you'd have to use VGA, not ideal.

This monitor is an inch larger, IPS and a bit cheaper, and brings DVI:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Iiyama Prolite X2380HS-B1 23" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £129.95

Also brings speakers which the Dell doesn't.

Alternatively, keep the Dell and switch the mobo for one with HDMI.

But I'd switch both the monitor and the mobo.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H AMD A88X Chipset (Socket FM2+) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £59.99

And the APU will perform better with faster RAM:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Patriot Viper 3 "Venom Red" 4GB DDR3 PC3-17200C11 2133MHz Single Module (P34G211UR) £37.99

I have an Antec 1200 case. I also have Logitech 5.1 Speaker set up so speakers on the monitor are not needed.

So this is the revised build

Total : £364.01 (includes shipping : £11.75).

All good?

Looks okay to me. Might as well give it more one more day before pulling the trigger, since it's Sunday tomorrow. But up to you. :)

I decided to upgrade the CPU as I will save the £11.75 on free shipping.

Can anybody recommend an after market cooler if I wanted to dabble in overclocking? It is funny that even though this is not a gaming system and is meant to be cheap as possible the overclocking bug still bites lol.

Also, if I were to use my old Ati 4850 and ditch the APU then what CPU & MB would you recommend. I assume as I am not really gaming them raw cpu power with a Piledriver would be better than a APU system cpu performance wise?

Thanks
