He needs a computer for games like WoW and fallout, heres what I came up with, can you find anything better for £200-£250 ?

It was my understanding that WOW and games in general are quite CPU intensive so using a Celeron processor might not be the best thing to do.

The 8800GTS you show is Out of Stock too.

Is it possible to create a gaming PC with new components for £200? I wouldn't have thought so. Go second hand market or buy a console perhaps?

I used to have those GTS 320mb cards, they're rubbish and pretty power hungry cand may make short work of that cheap PSU.
Get a ATi HD 5750 for £82 instead and a Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5500 for £49.98

if the rest was the same thats round about £250.

Yes, you can make a gaming computer for 200-250, but it's not gonna be able to run the games on max graphics... But if you have a low budget like that, you can't expect high end graphics really. You mean that the computer needs to be able to play games without TOO much lag on low graphics really.

Hold on here. There is no request for a monitor, speakers or keyboard, etc.

Does that mean there is an old donor system? Perhaps there are other components that could be carried forward. Any DDR2 or an hd, for example?

DDR3 800/1066/1333*(OC) DRAM
Can that G41 mobo overclock properly? The * doesnt inspire confidence that its a board thats going to give you manual control on cpu core voltage even if it does allow a modicum of memory divider control and fsb overclocking.

heres what I came up with,

I think you know it already (hence your post etc), but that system wont cut it these days even if you dont mind playing at low settings. Spend more on the mobo (unless you know for sure it can clock core2s) and graphics. I also couldnt bring myself to use a <80% efficiency psu. I know they are £40 new pushing your case+psu cost to at least £60 which eats most of your reserve below £250.

Going to agree with the above. Key must have on overclocking mobo, gfx and psu mean 2nd hand for one or more components to stay under £250.

I would say one of the best more reliable places for 2nd hand parts is on the members forums but you don't have access yet, otherwise auction sites but I would really check over what you wish to buy on there first properly.

Might be a better idea to just look for a second hand system/parts off Ebay, AV Forums or members market here.

Sure you could get something half decent with a bit of searching.
