cheapest gpu that can handle farcry @ 1680x1050

Hi guys, my secoundry system (P4 3.4, 7600GT PCI-E, Antec Truepower 430watt) is struggling badly at farcry Online @ 1680x1050, whats the next cheapest card up from the 7600GT that should run farcry online very smoothly @ 1680x1050.

AGP? your only option would be the x1950 pro (which should do ok) as the gainward 7800+GS seems to be all sold now.

to be honest tho if your playing at that res in farcry your probably going to need to SLI/cf those cards to get really smooth framerates or pay out for an 8800GTS (which would be preferable if your paying £200+).

X1950pro should handle that easily, my 7800GT is quite a bit slower and does ok with 4xAA, everything maxed and 1360x768 (40-70 fps).

I have been thinking about the X1950pro, it does look like a nice card, do you think my PSU will be enough though, I can't afford to upgrade that as well,

PSU should be fine.

1360x768 is quite a lot different to 1680x1050 almost 70% higher resolution... my old P4 w/ 6800 does fine for farcry at lower res with everything maxed... but turn up the resolution or higher levels of FSAA and it weeps.

Yep at £111 the x1950pro is probably the cheapest gpu which meets this requirement.

PSU will be fine. My nephew has been running his 1950pro and an o/c'd E6300 on some cheap-a$$ £25 400w for ages now.

I am a bit surprised than a 7600 GT couldn't run the game in 1680x1050... my X800XT does a pretty good job at that resolution.

Mainly yeh, I do use it to download stuff and other basic jobs to help free up resources on my main rig, I hardly ever use it for gaming myself, mainly it's for when freinds come round so we can pair up in WOW, Farcry, BF2 etc, but mainly Farcry though.
