Cheapest GPU which will run "most" games

RX 460 is a fair card. Though not worth more than 50 notes now imo. It'll do those esports titles as intended solidly. A 1060 is a decent card still and way more powerful than the 460, but i doubt there's any about for a reasonable price atm. The 1060 would handle most if not all demanding new games, tweaking those settings.

I don't think there is a Apu than can beat a 1050ti. Not that you'll be able to source either at a decent price so doesn't really matter.

Still rocking a couple of 1050ti here. Our main issue is the PCs have proprietary PSU which can't be upgraded. We need a completely new machine. But they plays most things. We do have a gaming laptop with a 2060. Mainly getting used for Minecraft with Ray tracing on..

My choice would be a 1060 6gb, 570/580 both 4gb. All will play most games at 1080p medium/high settings with even a spattering of AA. The issue really is can you get one at anything approaching a reasonable price. A 1050ti should really be the minimum level of card, but a gtx970 4gb (3.5gb!) or 470/480 4gb would be a good choice too.

If its 1080p your after, a 4GB RX 570 will still punch above its weight. unlike last year where you could pick one up for under £60 used, you can now add £80-£90 onto that figure.

I'd avoid the gtx970. I stopped using mine a few years ago because it started to suffer disproportionate frame rate drops compared to the average FPS. I suspect the 3.5/4gb ram thing was to blame. I swapped it for a 1080 which would still be a good card today up to 1440.

1060 6GB would be great. But tbh, buying a computer with onboard graphics isn't the craziest idea right now, given the elevated GPU prices.

A 1060 is still OK for 1080p, just try and make sure it's the 6GB model, the 3GB is cut down in more ways than just the memory. Just don't expect Cyberpunk style visuals but it'll slay Fortnite and Roblox easily and even some newer games will play OK on medium settings. A GTX970 is also OK too.

Yup, best.

I have the ASUS Dual series GeForce GTX 1060 OC edition 6GB GDDR5 and can play any game just fine at high settings (so far).
